Presentation: New methods to explore brain-pathology of psychiatric diseases

Chairman and professor, Neuropsychiatry, Kyushu University Graduate School of Medicine. My research areas have been mood disorders, brain science (psychopharmacology, stress, psychoneuroimmunology) and behavioral genetics. I have published about 320 scientific papers and 14 book chapters.

I serve for Japanese Society of Psychiatry and Neurology JSPN as president and Asian Federation of Psychiatric Societies AFPA as immediate past president. I serve/served for Science Council of Japan as a vice-chairman for Neuropsychiatric Committee, as a member for Social Security Committee of Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, as an advisory member of Drug and Food Administration, and as a member of Brain Science Committee of Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. I am/was an advisory member of Japan Science and Technology Agency and Japan Society for the Promotion of Science.
